Ingredients

  • 2 cup Rolled oats old fashioned
  • 1/4 cup Pecans
  • 2 tbsp Sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Oil unflavored
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • In a wide pan, dry roast the oats, pecans, almond slices, pumpkin seeds, and salt on medium low heat for 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture in a medium sized bowl and set aside.
  • In the same pan, combine honey and oil together. Let the mixture cook for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat until it becomes bubbly.
  • Transfer the roasted ingredients in the honey mixture and mix them until they are coated well.
  • On medium low heat, roast the oats mixture for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Next, stir the mixture well, spread it evenly on the pan, and roast it without stirring for 3 minutes on low heat.
  • Remove it from the heat and combine the raisins with the granola. Press the mixture with the back of a spatula to the pan.
  • Let the granola sit in the pan for 10-15 minutes to achieve larger chunks.
  • Break the granola with your hands and transfer them to the container. Do not seal the container until the granola is completely dry.

Notes

  • Old fashioned rolled oats work best for this recipe to get perfectly roasted crispy granola.
  • Roasting the oats with some salt helps them crisp and takes out the moisture from them.
  • Use a wide non-stick or a steel pan for making stovetop granola recipes.
  • Maple syrup can be used instead of honey to make it a vegan recipe.
  • Use peanut butter or almond butter instead of oil while making stovetop granola.
  • Any type of unflavored oil can be used for this recipe - canola, vegetable oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, or coconut oil for making granola.
